Good morning and welcome to Thursday.

There are times in our lives when each of us feels tired or discouraged. These times can last for a day, a week, or much longer. We may wonder if our faith makes any difference or if it is possible to truly be close to God. We may wonder if God cares what is going on in our lives or if he really loves us.

Jesus never said that following Him would be easy. The apostle Paul wrote most of his letters to encourage Christians who were struggling. One of his themes is that we "press on" in our life of faith.

This one thing I do: forgetting what lies behind and straining forward to what lies ahead, I press on towards the goal for the prize of the heavenly call of God in Christ Jesus. - Philippians 3:13-14

When we face challenges that seem to overwhelm us, we press on. When our own shortcomings and weaknesses discourage us, we press on. When we fail ourselves and God, we press on.

We can press on because God loves us more than we can imagine. We can press on because God has forgiven our sins and his grace fills our every need. We can press on because God has given us His Spirit and promised to always be with us.

We want to press on because Jesus has given us new life and invited us to follow Him. We want to press on so that we can know Christ and become like Him. We want to press on so that God's wonderful plan can be accomplished in our lives.

How might God be calling you to press on today?

Have a blessed day,

Pastor Chris
