PBPC Daily - Friday, April 24
Good morning and welcome to Friday.
As we draw to the end of another week of sheltering in place, I encourage you to take some time to reflect upon what this experience has meant to you. What have you learned - about yourself, about others, about God? How has God shown up for you during this time, and how have you seen Him at work in the midst of your days?
When we give our lives to Jesus, God gives us the presence of His Spirit and and access to eternal life. God also begins a process of transformation within us, in which He is growing us into the people He created us to be.
Do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your minds, so that you may discern what is the will of God—what is good and acceptable and perfect. - Romans 12:2
This process of formation and transformation does not get put on hold by pandemics or lockdowns or economic disruption. In fact, it is often during such times as these that God does some of His most profound work in our lives - in large measure because when our equilibrium is thrown off we may find ourselves more open to the changes that God wants to make in our hearts.
I am confident of this, that the one who began a good work in you will bring it to completion by the day of Jesus Christ. - Philippians 1:6
We can trust that God is at work in our lives, not in spite of our circumstances, but in and through our circumstances. So in the days to come, I encourage you to take time to be quiet and to listen to God and how He might be speaking to you.
I am confident that God is at work in your life.
Have a blessed weekend,
Pastor Chris
