PBPC Daily - April 15

Dear Friends,

Good morning and welcome to Wednesday. Shannon and I took the afternoon off yesterday to celebrate our anniversary (the actual date was last week.) We took a scenic drive to an open-space preserve called Table Mountain, which is known locally for its annual spring-time displays of wildflowers. There were not many people there, so we had no problem with social distancing!

This time in God's good creation was a beautiful reminder of all that God has blessed us with. In this time of prolonged crisis, it is easy to focus on what we have lost or have to do without. But God is the Creator and Sustainer of life, and we can look to Him for all things.

9 You visit the earth and water it,
   you greatly enrich it;
the river of God is full of water;
   you provide the people with grain,
   for so you have prepared it.
10 You water its furrows abundantly,
   settling its ridges,
softening it with showers,
   and blessing its growth.
11 You crown the year with your bounty;
   your wagon tracks overflow with richness.
12 The pastures of the wilderness overflow,
   the hills gird themselves with joy,
13 the meadows clothe themselves with flocks,
   the valleys deck themselves with grain,
   they shout and sing together for joy.  - Psalm 65:9-13

If you are able, I encourage you to take some time to get out into nature this week, or maybe go for a scenic drive. I know that not all of you are able to get out, so at the very least take a look out your window and find some thing of beauty that you can give God thanks and praise for.

God is the Lord of life, He is greater than the situation that we find ourselves in, and there are signs of His love for us all around, if we are willing to look for them.

Have a blessed day,

Pastor Chris
